30 Million Devices Collected with ecoATM!

Every year, millions of phones are thrown out in the US alone. The staggering growth of electronic waste poses a constant threat to the future health of our Planet, especially with the additional releases of new electronic devices throughout each year. ecoATM was created to help combat this issue by making device upcycling and recycling accessible and simple for those with used devices languished at home. 

We rely on the efforts of our customers across the globe to to make the smart choice of selling or recycling their used devices to us. By further extending the lifecycle of electronic devices, we can all work towards limiting electronic waste that enters our environment. 

Because of this incredible effort from our customers over the past decade, we have hit a major milestone of collecting over 30 million electronic devices at our kiosks! 

Let’s take a look at what this means in terms of estimated equivalents based on the Environmental Protection Agency assessment tool. 

What Do 30 Million Devices Look Like?

Electronic devices contain both precious materials and harsh, hazardous chemicals. The improper disposal of these devices can have negative effects while also being a waste of those precious materials. One cellphone alone may not seem like a major difference, but the total collection of over 30 million electronic devices has several wins for the health of both our natural environment and the people around us.

30 million electronic devices weigh roughly 10 million pounds. Based on the EPA calculator tool*, recycling 10 million pounds of electronic waste is the estimated equivalent to:

The Future of Our Planet  

The growing issue of e-waste continues to soar with over 57.4 million tons of e-waste generated in 2021 alone. We all must choose better for our Planet and continuously work towards a green future.
